 Hardwood floor cleaning

 

On average most hardwood floors will need to be re-coated every three to five years. This is only an average. Some of our customers will go 10 years and some only two years. It really depends on if the floor is in a high traffic area, a kitchen will need to be re-coated sooner than a bedroom or dining room. General maintenance is a Buff & Coat, which is a light sanding that removes surface scratches and cleans and prepares the surface for another coat of urethane.

 

You can Buff & Coat your floor three times before you reach the cost of a total refinish job. The sheen is controlled by the type of urethane used. Urethane is like paint; it comes in different sheen's (designer satin, satin, and semi-gloss).

 

Buff & Coat is a light sanding that removes surface scratches, cleans, and prepares the floor for another coat of urethane. This is generally a one day job.

 

Sand & Finish is a total sanding to the raw wood. We then stain the floor to your color and apply three coats of polyurethane. This process removes all dents, scratches and wear pattern (looks like a new floor). This is generally a three to five day job.

Marble, Limestone, Sandstone, Terrazzo, Granite and Slate are the most common types of natural stone and can each host a variety of problems.  Our team of experts can come to visit the premises and assess the situation on a very individual level.  It may be that your marble floor has lost it's shine, or perhaps acidic cleaning solutions or household products have caused acid burns on your limestone.  Often stone in washrooms and wet rooms can collect a large build up of limescale which needs removing avoiding the usual de-scaling technique of an acid based cleaner.  Perhaps your surface or floor has become stained or maybe dull spots have started to appear.

The Cleaning Processes: -

  
Wood floor cleaning, waxing and polishing

 

The natural beauty of your hardwood floors requires periodic care and maintenance from trained floor care professionals. Our process includes using solvents and moisturizers to cleanse wood and provide a protective over-coating against spills and normal wear and tear.

 

 Vinyl floor stripping, sealing and polishing

 

Vinyl floors are most common in high traffic areas as they are highly durable. Though without correct maintenance the vinyl will lose its shine and appearance due to dirt build up and scratches on the sealed layers of the floor. Overtime a yellowish appearance can also make vinyl floors look un-attractive and dirty. Brunswick Property Services are experts at regenerating the look and feel of your vinyl flooring.

 

 Linoleum floor stripping, sealing and polishing

Linoleum flooring can loose there shine and luster.  This type of floor can develop wax buildup and a yellow discoloration.  This buildup greatly attracts other dirt which sticks to your floor like glue. Brunswick Property Services can remove your linoleum floors old sealer, apply the highest quality sealer and buff your floor to renew the shine. The sealer and gloss shine will extend the life of your linoleum floors, repel scratches and will protect your floors from soil penetration.

 

Safety floor cleaning

A combination of plastic vinyl and aluminium oxide grains and reinforced with glass fibre. It is slip resistant even when wet. Since the floors are heat welded when fitted they can appear seamless. It is important to choose the right chemical products when cleaning this type of floor. Certain abrasive substances can cause damage to the vinyl flooring and should be avoided.

 

 Ceramic tile cleaning

 

Ceramic tiles and Porcelain tiles can usually be cleaned with our contra rotating machines that will clean and dry your tiled floors in a single pass, ready to walk on immediately. Only the grouting may need sealing.

 

 Terrazzo tile cleaning and polishing

 

We have to use Course grit diamond cups on the end of machinery to provide us with the capacity of resurfacing the Terrazzo. The resurfacing is a usually around a millimetre so you would never know. Sometimes we need to grind the floor more aggressively but that is mostly because of poor fitting by tillers or a deep scratch. Once this has been performed several times using progressively smoother diamond cup to achieve a shine we seal the floor and finish leaving it with a Matt, sheen or polished finish.

  

Marble, Granite and Limestone floor maintenance

 

Cleaning processes vary based on the stone surface condition and type of dirt or oil being removed. Cleaned periodically using a non-acidic cleaner, marble is easy to keep clean. However, once wear sets in creating hollows and low points for dirt to collect, your stone can become difficult to keep clean. Properly polished and maintained, free of scratches facilitates cleaning and care of your stone.
